Gaëtan Ducroux is currently in charge of bilateral and regional environmental cooperation with Africa and South Asia in the European Commission Directorate General for Environment. He promotes the circular economy and EU circular economy policies with third countries and organisations from sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. He has notably monitored studies on the circular economy in EU-Africa co-operation and is involved in the work of the African Circular Economy Alliance (ACEA), as well as in the bilateral EU-India partnership on Resource Efficiency and Circular Economy.
In previous functions, he worked seven years on the European Commission’s response to the Syrian refugee crisis and ten years for development co-operation projects in various countries in the Middle East and Africa. He holds a Master’s degree from the University La Sorbonne, Paris, in development cooperation and humanitarian action.
