Enhancing circularity in Africa

How important is the circular economy in driving sustainable economic growth in Africa? And what approaches do African countries adopt to integrate circularity in their development processes?

This session will showcase steps being taken by countries and partners to accelerate the transition to a circular economy in Africa. It will highlight the opportunities and challenges, policies, partnerships, financing, markets, etc. essential for the transition to circularity in Africa. The session will also enable cross-regional exchange of good practices and success factors for circularity, as well as launch two Africa-specific tools:

  • Guidelines to accelerate the transition towards a circular economy
  • A report on green financing mechanisms for micro, small and medium sized enterprises (MSMEs).
